Chapter 7
chapter 7:
the search for julia
Upon arriving at Julia's house, I noticed something was off the moment I first looked at her house. The first thing I noticed was how the house looked. First, the window looked like it was broken into or possibly broken out of. 'Something isn't right here,' I muttered. 'What is it?' 'I don't know, Chris, but stay sharp. We may not be alone,' I said to him in response. The first place we looked was in her bedroom, but by the time we were about to open it, the door was completely locked. I knee we had to find the key, so Me and Chris looked around for the key. I went into the kitchen, and I remembered finding some letters. Then I realized they weren't letters at all, they were drawings. Strange scribbled drawings depicting a man in a suit with no face, "the entity" I thought to myself. It was like Julia may have been affected the most. After all, Chris and I weren't ready for what was going to come next. "I FOUND IT!" Chris called out frantically, "Good, now we can figure out what happened." I then muttered to myself.
The time we unlocked the door, we came across a room that was wrecked and filled with drawings. These drawings were the same ones that I found in the kitchen. On top of that, there was a claw mark on the wall, signifying that the reaper had been here, like he did this. But why Julia? Why come after Julia before coming after me? That part really confused me. Did the reaper want to do something to break me? Those were the few questions that had been on my mind. The only things left undamaged were two things: a Bible and a video camera. What interested me the most was the camera, but then I started having flashbacks to that incident back at the cabin on our camping trip. But it didn't matter; we have already been in enough trouble as it was.
I heard a noise coming from outside the house. It sounded like leaves being mulched on and a stick broke as well. I turned on my flashlight and looked outside. I slowly looked out at what I was able to see outside. There was nothing, nothing outside, but I had a strong feeling that we were being watched. "Was it a squirrel?" I thought. It really was a dumb question to ask myself considering we may be watched. I then looked at the broken window from the living room and realized that the house was broken into from the front door. I knew this because the door was already unlocked. So from what I believe, the perpetrator snuck into the house and into Julia's room. When Julia was attacked, she escaped and jumped out the window by the living room. It was the only thing I could think of up until this point.
That terrible feeling came back, and I knew we were in grave danger for lingering too long. When I turned around, I saw the entity. The entity just teleported into the house and was ready to strike. I told Chris to run to the car, which he did, and I was teleported yet again back into the hellish void I had visited the day before. Then, I found myself in the woods, but it looked like the place had recently snowed. Next, I was teleported to some kind of hospital, and someone was chasing me. I suddenly found myself in the front seat of Chris's car. Chris knocked on the car door, saying, "Jason, what happened? Are you okay?" I looked at him, said nothing, and got out of the car, moving to the front passenger seat.
I didn't say another word until later when we arrived at a hotel. I told Chris what had happened to me and then proceeded to tell him where Julia might be. I received a phone call from an unknown number. I answered the call and was surprised to hear Julia's voice. She was okay. Chris then snatched my phone just to see if it was really her. Julia told us to meet her at her mother's house; she said she wanted to talk to us about something. She also said she had very important information about the entity and the reaper. She hung up. Chris and I slept for the rest of the night and waited until the next morning, then headed straight to her mother's house. We arrived and finally found her, alive and well upon arriving at our destination.
